Pearl Earrings

Pearl Earrings

Welcome to the new website!

Lets start things off with a very fun and easily customizable pair of earrings. You don’t have to use pearls you can use any bead type you like, you probably want to stay above 8mm though.

What you will need

Fine wire (tarnish resistant)  –  26, 28 (the larger the gauge, the smaller the wire is, which makes it easier to work with your crochet hook) I used a silver 28 gauge.

Crochet hook – I used a 3/2. 10 mm hook.

2 earring hooks – which ever design you like.

Beads – for each earrings ( 1 large round bead, 8(-/+) seed beads, and end beads). The end beads I used were 2 seed beads of the same color.

Wire pliers– these are not needed but make your life a lot more easy while pushing the tails through the beads.

Scissors – to cut the wire of course (it’s very fine so normal scissors will work).

Note: you may need more seed beads to go around your bead then what I used, for this it is better to be safe then sorry and just add extra onto your wire.

Extra note: if you can’t see the pictures then click on them! It will open a larger picture.

Step 1

Place your seed beads then your large bead on the wire.

Step 2

chain the amount of beads you have so that your large bead is in the center and the seed beads can comfortably fit around it. (mine was chain 1 with large bead then chain 8)

Slip stitch with the starting chain and then chain 2 and fasten off (this is where the earring hook will go.)

Step 3

Now we are going to secure the large bead in the middle. Take your beginning tail and put it through the closest chain to the large bead hole and push it all the way to the other side. Wrap it around the chain cut it so that it wont go through the bead all the way and push it back through the bead.

Step 4

Now we are going to attach the earring hooks here. Add your end beads and wrap the wire around what ever earring hook you are using, then bring the wire back through the seed beads wrap the wire around the chain a few times, then cut the wire shorter and put the end back into the seed beads.

Now all you have to do is repeat this for the other side and you have a wonderful pair of earrings, go you!!
