Serenity Bracelet

Serenity Bracelet

Let yourself unwind and relax with this serenity bracelet made with lava rocks. Now it wouldn’t look like it but lava rocks are one of the oldest rocks in existence and it has its share of healing properties (just like amethyst). They help you stabilize and ground to the earth giving the affect of calmness. It can also be beneficial in helping you shed unneeded layers of emotional attachment.

Even if you just like the look of lava rocks, lets have fun making these bracelets 😀

Here is what you will need

Fine wire (tarnish resistant)  –  26, 28, 30 (the larger the gauge, the smaller the wire is, which makes it easier to work with your crochet hook) I used a silver 26 gauge.

Crochet hook – I used a 3.25 hook.

2 end clasp – which ever design you like.

Beads – (10-12) lava rocks 8mm and (11-13) seed beads and 2 end beads. The lower number is for small wrist while the larger number is for big wrists (this is a estimation though, you can make sure by making a chain, save about a inch and a half for the end beads and clasp)

Wire pliers– these are not needed but make your life a lot more easy while pushing the tails through the beads.

Scissors – to cut the wire of course (it’s very fine so normal scissors will work).

Written instructions are below the video ^^

Step 1

Put your lava beads and then seed bead on the wire. Slipknot, chain 2, then following this pattern of (chain 1 with bead chain 1 without bead)  until you reach the end of the seed beads. chain a additional 2.

Step 2

Single crochet into the second chain from the hook. 3 Single crochet, then add the lava bead to the next single crochet continue this for ever chain that does not have a seed bead. So it should go seed bead, lava rock, seed bead. Careful your seed beads might move around when you are single crochet, so make sure to move them back. Do 2 last single crochet this should complete the row.

Step 3

Fasten off and add the end bead to both of the tails. Wrap the wire around the end clasp, twist around itself, cut if needed and bring it back through the end bead. Do the same thing to the other side but attach a small length a wire folded in half to make up for the 2 tails you don’t have.
